Abstract
Domestic politics in Brazil is still very disconnected from the countrys foreign policy and international stance on human rights issues. That indifference creates a twofold problem: it undermines Brazils ambition to be a major world power, and it weakens a global landscape that needs a country with Brazils weight and legitimacy among nations and institutions in both the Global North and the Global South.
